Spark Plug - NGK CR7HSA (4549) - (Built in Resistor)
R type NGK spark plug. You might be wondering what the R stands for? It an abbreviation for 'Resistor'. NGK R type spark plugs come with a built-in resistor that will not allow electrical current back into your electrical systems (such as your CDI unit and other sensitive electrical components). If you've ever noticed just about every top brand like Honda, Yamaha etc.. use R type plugs; and there is a good reason for this since just about every newly designed engine uses a CDI ignition system. Why risk the hassle of damaging electrical components when the cost of an R spark plug is only $3.11. --- Someone needs to send an FYI to Chinese manufacturers, so they can save everyone the hassles of fried-out CDI's..
This NGK spark plug replace the cheap Chinese spark plugs that come preinstalled on the GY6 based 50cc to150cc gas scooters engines. And 50cc, 70cc, 90cc, 100, 110cc, 125cc, 140cc and 160cc Dirt bike, ATV and other horizontal honda clone engines.

* Triple-Gasket Sealing Process
* Consistent Performance
* Plug of Choice in Millions of Vehicles
------
A: NGK "R" or resistor spark plugs use a 5k ohm ceramic resistor in the spark plug to suppress ignition noise generated during sparking.
NGK strongly recommends using resistor spark plugs in any vehicle that uses onboard computer systems to monitor or control engine performance. This is because resistor spark plugs reduce electromagnetic interference with onboard electronics.
They are also recommended on any vehicle that has other onboard electronic systems such as engine-management computers, two-way radios, GPS systems, depth finders or whenever recommended by the manufacturer.
In fact, using a non-resistor plug in certain applications can actually cause the engine to suffer undesirable side effects such as an erratic idle, high-rpm misfire, engine run-on, power drop off at certain rpm levels and abnormal combustion.
